Which is why ‘costumes’ is in the page title, genius.
Aaron
HEY. GET IT STRAIGHT. COSPLAY IS SERIOUS BUSINESS.
Brooke
Why is Yoko in a steampunk cosplay? She is not steampunk!
VeniceParrish
Steampunk really isn’t cosplay. Cosplay, short for “costume play”, is a type of performance art in which participants don costumes and accessories to represent a specific character or idea centred around role play. Steampunkers don’t copy specific characters; we make up our own original characters. Also, we don’t role play. There are some who do perform, but, again, it’s original performance, not replicating what is in a novel, manga or anime, etc.

I think I’m in love with the girl in the third picture.
Matt
Love #9, I adore the Victorian look.
#28 is kinda sad… a t-shirt with the words ‘LOOK AT ME!’ spray painted on it might do the trick… and holy god… #29 is staring into my soul. I love her. WANT.
Nice post!

Thank you!
Kamina
Ummm… #28 is a actual character from a graphic novel, Its a cosplay of yoko.
VeniceParrish
I don’t care if #28 is an actual cosplay character, it’s trashy and the only reason the girl chose to do that character is so she could run around 98% naked. It may work for the graphic novel character, but it’s just cheap on a real person……
tasha
omg…. i would do naughty things with #3…..
Miranda
Can I join you? That girl couldn’t look more kick ass.
These aren’t all SteamPunk. Some are clock punk, some are plain gothic.
Riley
“Clock Punk” Pretty much is steampunk.
marcus
where can i by these outfit?
Orla
Anywhere from Goodwill to Etsy
VeniceParrish
Mostly, they are all original creations by the wearer or consigned to a designer acccording to the wearer’s specifications.
Julia
Uhmmmm the the 10th one from the bottom is cosplay for Yoko from Guran Lagan and she definitely doesn’t dress anything like the steampunk or neo victorian style….just sayin.

Thanks for the collection! Lovely ladies in deed and the Steampunk wedding cake at the bottom of the post is also a beautiful sight to behold.
Melissa
Where can I buy some of these clothes!! I really want them, they look so great!
Awesome collection! Haven’t seen like 75% of these!

Friends don’t let friends steampunk cosplay with goggles.
Great pictures… but the stars are the ones with the Victorian overtones.
and Yoko? picture dump?
Allie
Goggles are kinda the essential steampunk signature. If your powersource is ‘steam’ as in steam punk, or if you
include the whole transportation by airship, you WILL have goggles because it makes sense to protect your eyes.
Not having them (unless you cosplay more wealthy) makes less sense.
The anime cosplay is incorrectly placed in this topic.

Great outfits

I absolutely love the out fits in #1 and # 32!!! would love to have them!!! is there any where to buy those outfits??? want em soo bad!!!
I used to have blue hair, too. I wish I still had it to do a steampunk costume
I love 4 and 6.
L
hmmmm….considering most of these pictures are of Kato and her clothing line, it looks more like an advertisement. A cake is not a costume… and Victoria Secret is underwear, not clothes… some cosplay, some boring outfits…
There are some brilliant steampunk artists and costumers out there but i’m not seeing may of them here… I suggest googling a little more… : /
VeniceParrish
As a steampunker, (NOT cosplay!) I’d have to say my favorite is #23. It’s definitely more real, homemade, put together by a real person looking instead of some designer and/or someone trying to pretend they’re steampunk, but are really just trying to be sexy in a steamy way. Steampunk is not lace or satin or half naked sexy or designer. Steampunk is rugged, worn out, tattered, eclectic…….
