I definitely can say Haines & Spektor have been under my celebrity crush list before.
they’re amazing, as well as their music.
You’re the one who introduced me to Spektor’s music. :]
In addition to Haines and Spektor, Lewis and Clark are also amazing. Not only did they discover half of America, they wrote some great music 200 years later. They still look so young. Strange….
Brett, I’m surprised you didn’t mention Bjork. Haha
I would def agree with most, though I would like to suggest maybe Bjork, Lisa Hannigan and Gemma Hayes
i do want to just point out that Marnie Stern has been put down as just guitar and vocals when in the picture she is holding a bass. might want to change that.
Thank you for taking the time to point that out! It’s been updated.
I’d also like to point out that that’s not Marnie Strern, it’s her bassist. I think her names Malia James but I’m not 100% on that. She is gorgeous, not to take away from Marnie or anything.
no KT Tunstall , she’s a megababe
Thanks for the suggestion. She’s been added.
Why so much indie pop/rock? There are many female singers in other genres that are much more attractive and probably more talented.
Because I love Indie rock and the ‘style’ that is associated with it. I am open to suggestions for additions, however.
I was sad to see that Charlotte Savary wasn’t on this list.

Even if the music isn’t to your liking, you have to admit that the combination of her chilling, beautiful voice and amazing looks is enough to warrant being anyone’s crush.
At least, that’s my opinion!
Excellent recommendation. She’s been added.
I suggest: Otep Shamaya, from the group OTEP.
i thjink like you should put rihanna bcause she is hot n lots of ppl listen to her
like i could post those nude hotel photos of her and everything
i heard she was a hermophrodite
I heard she lost her legs in Iraq.
What about the lady from Paramore!!
How about next time, you go beyond indie?
Kinda contrived, just sayin
Yeah, next time I’ll just stick to billboard artists so it’s less contrived.
Win.
Or how about you stop being such an elitist thinking that the only good music is underground crap. Honestly, Indie is crap. Not saying current music isn’t crap either, but “Synthpop” , “Indiepop”, Indierocksynthpopglamfaggot” doesn’t take any skill really. Plus, most of those people are pretty ugly.
Alison Sudol should be on this list. Her voice is probably the best thing I’ve heard, even in direct comparison with Regina Spektor and Feist.
Don’t forget Sabrina Stone!

Agreed, she’s so naturally beautiful. I love this picture of her at Versailles:

What about Maria Brink? http://wallpaper.metalship.org/images/in-this-moment1.jpg I’m not saying mainstream is the way to go, but at least step a little outside of your Indie circle.
Her left knee looks like a face, dude
sorry, but most of these girls are way too damn skinny, though some of them are cute
How you missed Alexandra Lawn from Ra Ra Riot is beyond me. Shes beautiful and talented.
For me, it’s a toss-up between Sherri, Neko and Charlotte. Nummy.
And as it seems everyone is tossing in their own candidates; Lucia Cifarelli has my undying love; married or not.
: D
yeah you should have a crush on these girls if you like douchey hipster bitches who think they fucking fart rainbows.
that’s where that pot of gold is huh?
alice glass most definitely does not shit rainbows. regina spektor might.
lol. yeah, these chicks are all indie/hip, but I think the idea was to surface some names that people are less familiar with.
Best comment I’ve seen yet. So true too.
Does anyone remember Poe? She sang great songs like Haunted/Control/House of Leaves. I don’t know if she still puts out music, but she should definitely be up there.
angel deradoorian and/or amber coffman from dirty projectors are pretty crush-worthy!
I’d like to add to the list Genevieve Schatz from Company of Thieves.

Kina Grannis should be on this list: http://www.kinagrannis.com <3
Hey, what about Alison Mosshart of The Kills?
I was kind-of hoping Carah Faye would be on the list heh heh…
What about Stevie Ann and Lene Marlin?
Laura Wills of Pony Up. Left in this picture.

sara barellies?
I am in love with regina skeptor. shes so hot!
I’ve had a crush on most of these ladies already, namely Neko Case, Jenna Lewis, Sherri DuPree, Karen O, and Emily Haines. I love my ladies!
also, i think Florence Welch of “Florence and the Machine” she’s gorgeous and talented to boot!
But…none of them are attractive in the least bit.
Alice. ha! Crystal Castles only formed because “Ethan” wanted to fuck her. The music was sort of an after thought.
cat power and beth orton if you please
if you wouldnt bang joanna newsom then you like penises.
Hey look. 15 artists you should have had a crush on … 6-8 years ago.
P.S.: I remember Poe. She was awesome. Good live show.
P.P.S: The silly boys complaining nobody listed is HAWT ENUF to brag to their frat pals about … methinks they doth protest too much (and need to check their optical plan stat). What are you compensating for, bros?
The fact that Sydney Blu is not on here means it is wrong.
KATE BUSH. Forever.
Yeah I agree Kate Bush is hot!
That’s so amazing, Annie and Natasha were the first two I thought of when I saw the title! And then you put Neko Case and Karen O… omg, I’m in love. Perhaps you could consider Land of Talk’s Elizabeth Powell?
What is wrong with you people? Do you go on a “15 Female Rock Artists You Should Have A Crush On” and ask why there are no country singers featured? Nikki chose to feature indie artists, so ALL of the singers featured are going to be INDIE. DEAL WITH IT. If you don’t like indie music, MOVE ON. I’m glad she chose to feature indie because there are some really good, really underexposed artists in that genre.
Also, I’d love to see Ingrid Michaelson make the list. She is adorable!
Where Norah Jones is?!?!? She’s one of the cuttest singers in the whole world!
